Founder of the Revival City International Christian Retreat and Conference Centre, Enugu, Bishop Deborah Akacbukwu has advocated the establishment of more universities of agriculture in the country.

Mrs Akacbukwu gave the advice while addressing journalists on burning national issues including the ongoing hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy.

She faulted some aspects of our educational system especially the failure to prepare people on how to acquire skills, stressing that we need an educational system that could equip people with skills.

Bishop Akachukwu noted that the oil boom was a major challenge to the nation because it succeeded in killing some key areas including agriculture.

She faulted some of the educational curricula that the colonialists handed over to the nation that excluded some key areas that would equip citizens with skills.

Mrs Akacbukwu maintained that what Nigeria needs at the moment is more universities of agriculture and cosmetology that will research into local resources and commodities.

She expressed concern over the prevailing hardship in the country, stressing that Nigerians need to reset their minds and seek ways out of the problem.

The bishop maintained that nothing could disorient the people more than the ongoing hunger in the country but urged people to be more proactive and practical and do things in the context of current realities.
