COAS Olukoye Lauds Personnel For Their Sacrifices To The Nation

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has commended the officers and men of the Nigerian Army for their efforts and sacrifices in combating security challenges facing the country.

General Oluyede noted that personnel have remained committed to ensuring peaceful Christmas and New Year celebrations across the country.

He stated this in his New Year message to soldiers during a special New Year lunch at the Brigade Tactical Headquarters, Tagina, in the Rafi local government area of Niger State, on Wednesday.

Oluyede, who was represented by the Commander 18 Brigade, Brigadier General Taiye Ahmed, charged the troops to remain focused, disciplined, and loyal to constituted authority.

He also urged them to “maintain the spirit of patriotism and continue to give their best in the discharge of their assigned duties and responsibilities“.

On his part, the Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmadu Attahiru II, who was represented by the Hakimin Tagina and Alhaji Garba Bako, said that the “swift and timely responses of the troops had reduced security threats in the area”.

Attahiru highlighted that establishing the 18 Brigade Tactical Headquarters at Tagina was a move in the right direction, and it has gone a long way in boosting the economy of the local government area.

According to the Nation, the event concluded with prayers from the Chaplains for a successful and prosperous Year 2025.
