Nigerian comedian cum filmmaker, Ayodeji Richard Makun, popularly known as AY, and his colleague, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, have met for the first time after settling their 18 years of beef.
Naija News recalls that Basketmouth, in 2021, during a Black Box interview with media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, said he fell out with AY because he messed with loyalty.
Speaking on the longtime rift in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo in May 2023, AY attributed the cause of the rift to a business transaction that went sour in 2006 and has made attempts to settle the beef, all to no avail.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Basketmouth took responsibility for the 17-year rift and tendered a public apology to AY and other people he offended in the entertainment industry.
The comedian said he was genuinely sorry for everything and wants to live peacefully and harmoniously with his colleagues.
AY took to his Instagram page to share a video of the duo as they sat together on his podcast show, ‘The Glass House.’
The Nollywood actor said they shared stories, laughs and insights on their new realities after missing out for eighteen years.
He wrote, “After 18 years of incessant misunderstandings, join me and @Basketmouth on my Glass House podcast for an unforgettable conversation! Tune in as we share stories, laughs, and insights on our new realities.”
