The Nigeria Customs Service has been awarded the Golden World Award by the International Public Relations Association for 2024.
In a statement on Wednesday, the service explained that the award recognised the NCS’s outstanding public relations campaign, titled: “100 Days of Impactful PR at Customs Service”, which was executed in collaboration with Image Merchants Promotion Limited.
It added that the campaign won the prestigious crisis management category.
The Secretary-General of IPRA, Philip Sheppard, formally conveyed the award to the Comptrolle- General of the NCS, Adewale Adeniyi, in a letter dated July 16, 2024.
The letter commended the NCS for its successful PR efforts and invited the NCS team to the PRA Golden World Awards Ceremony, which will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, on October 18, 2024.
“The recognition of the NCS’s campaign further solidifies its commitment to effective crisis communication and public engagement,” IPRA stated.
The IPRA Golden World Awards, established in 1990, honours excellence in public relations practices globally, with recognition granted in 60 categories.
The award celebrates entries that meet international standards of PR excellence, and an overall IPRA Grand Prix for Excellence is awarded to the best entry each year.
