Darkness looms in Abuja, Nasarawa, Niger, and Kogi states as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has issued the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) a five-working-day disconnection notice over non-compliance with the provisions of the Market Rules.

This is according to a disconnection notice signed on Friday by TCN’s Market Operator, Ali Ahmad.

TCN stated that the proposed disconnection date is July 28, 2024.

Accordingly, TCN noted the disconnection will be done at the 33kV feeder from the 132/33kV Katampe 1 Transmission Station and Feeder 3 from the 132/33kV Central Area Transmission Station.

“The Market Operator hereby issues a disconnection order for Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) for its non-compliance with the provisions of the Market Rules.

“The defaulting Market Participant, AEDC, has been duly notified of their infractions concerning non-compliance with Section 15.3.3.a of the Market Rules.

“Newspaper publication has been made in line with the application of the Rules, which gives AEDC a deadline of five (5) business days from the date to remedy its Market Rules infractions.”
