“When we have to kiss in a scene, you don’t have to kiss us for real! You don’t have to bring out your tongues and put it in our mouths. You don’t have to. There is something called the Nollywood kiss, it’s dry, just lip to lip contact, no saliva involved. I don’t have to take in your saliva. I really don’t! You’re not my boyfriend, we are not in a relationship, it’s called make belief.

“Sometimes I try to do the Nollywood kiss cuz I don’t know how to tell an actor before a kiss, ‘please, don’t kiss me; let’s just do! I don’t even, I don’t know how to do it. When we start the kissing and you see that I’m not opening my mouth, please follow suit. If I want to kiss you for real, I would open my mouth. But, when you’re trying to kiss somebody and the person closes her mouth and you’re still trying to force your tongue, they do that sh!t a lot. Actors do it a lot. You’re trying to kiss me, my mouth is closed and I’m trying to do the Nollywood kiss and then, you’re forcing your tongue into my mouth. Why do I have to take in your tongue?

Narrating one of the ugly experiences she had on set that she almost got choked, Ifudu said the actor they paired her with almost snuffed life out of and the worst was that his mouth was smelling.

She explains more, “There’s an actor that I kissed, one time on set. I almost diéd! This is not a joke. I was trying to do the Nollywood kiss, this guy was forcing his tongue into my mouth and kissing me. It was like sexual harassment at that point because I didn’t wanna kiss you. It was like a battlefield.

After the whole drama eh, I couldn’t breathe. I swear to God who made me, all this place, here was on fire (she touched her upper lip region). I had to run into the bathroom, I was confused, I was panicking because I couldn’t breathe this place (upper lip region) is very close to my nose. It was smelling.

“I ran into the bathroom and all I saw there was hand wash. I took the hand wash, I put water and was washing my face. I had makeup on my face. I didn’t even mind at that point. I was trying to save my life! I had makeup, I took the hand wash, I took water, I was drinking hand wash and spitting it out. I was in a state of panic and confusion. That smell almost drove me to an early grave”.
