Ousmane Dembele’s dramatic injury-time goal handed Paris Saint-Germain a 1-0 victory over Monaco to clinch the French Super Cup on Sunday.
The win marks PSG’s third consecutive triumph in the competition and their 11th title in 12 years, further solidifying their dominance in French football.
The Ligue 1 champions, who also won the French Cup last season, controlled much of the lively encounter held at Doha’s Stadium 974. Despite creating 27 chances, PSG struggled to break through Monaco’s defense.
However, Dembele ensured the game didn’t go to penalties, finding the net two minutes into injury time. The French forward converted a precise pass from Fabián Ruiz, slotting the ball into the far corner and sealing the win for his side.
PSG will now shift focus back to Ligue 1, where they host St Etienne next Sunday. Meanwhile, Monaco will face Nantes on Friday as they look to bounce back from the narrow defeat.
