Scientists have discovered that there is a planet named 55 Cancri e, located about 40 light-years from Earth, that is often referred to as a “diamond planet.”
It’s believed to have a carbon-rich composition, and scientists speculate that a large part of it could be made up of diamond due to the high pressure and temperatures.
The planet is incredibly close to its star, which means it has a very high surface temperature, possibly around 2,400 degrees Celsius (4,352 degrees Fahrenheit).
