An array of dignitaries and political figures gathered at the Lagos Community Secretariat Central Mosque in Alausa, Ikeja, for a prayer session commemorating the 60th birthday of the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat.

Attendees embraced the spirit of festivity, donning vibrant blue and white attire. Hamzat also looked resplendent in a traditional white and blue outfit.

The prayer session harmoniously blended Muslim and Christian practices, with various clerics leading different segments of prayers.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu took a moment to express gratitude to God on behalf of his deputy governor, sharing a touching reflection on their long-standing friendship.

He said, “I thank God for keeping my twin, my Aki and Pawpaw, for 60 glorious years. For nearly two decades, Obafemi Hamzat and I have been inseparable. I stand here today to testify to the glory of God in his life.”

Expressing his appreciation to those who attended the event, Hamzat said, “I am thankful to my dear wife, Oluremi; our children, family, friends, and indeed the good people of Lagos and Nigeria for their love, well wishes, and unwavering support over the years.”

Among the notable attendees were the founder of Eleganza Group of Companies, Rasaq Okoya, and his wife Shade; Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Majeed Balogun; and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
