DSS Raids Terrorist’s Residence In Niger, Recovers Arms, Dollars

Personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS) raided the residence of a notorious terrorist group in the Gbeganu area, a suburb of Minna, Niger State.

Naija News learnt that the raid, which took place on Wednesday afternoon, caused fear among residents in the area.

According to Daily Trust, the recent operation was the third raid in less than four years in the neighbouring areas of Nkangbe and Gbeganu, both in the Bosso Local Government Area.

The suspect targeted in this raid was allegedly a storekeeper for a terrorist group, and a substantial amount of cash, including dollars, was seized during the operation.

The suspect had been known as a tricycle rider before the raid revealed his alleged involvement with terrorist activities.

At the time of filing this report, the Niger State Police Command spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, has yet to issue any statement on the incident.

Operation Safe Haven Asst. Commander Killed In Plateau

In other news, a senior immigration officer, Christopher Luka, who served as Administration Officer of Sector 4 of Operation Safe Haven, located in Barikin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State has been killed in Fan community, Fan District area of the local government.

Operation Safe Haven is a multi security taskforce comprising soldiers, immigration officers, police, men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corpse and Customs personnel, saddled with the responsibility of maintaining peace in the state.

The two-star immigration officer, was attached to Sector 4 of the Operation as an assistant sector commander.

According to Daily Trust, sources from Barikin Ladi revealed that the officer was killed on Tuesday night when he led troops from the Operation to recover cattle rustled in the area on Friday.

The platform noted that 92 cattle were rustled, and 52 were recovered following the sector commander’s efforts. The operatives were reportedly attacked while attempting to recover the remaining 40 cattle.
