Former Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi, has expressed her support for the women’s national team as they prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympics, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Taking to her Facebook account, Ebi, 41, shared the team’s call-up sheet and sent her best wishes to the squad.

“Good luck, Super Falcons,” she captioned the post on Wednesday, rallying behind the team that is set to compete on the grand stage in France.

Ebi’s message comes as a morale booster for the Falcons, who are making their first appearance at the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament since 2008.

The team, led by head coach Randy Waldrum, includes prominent players such as Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, and Chiamaka Nnadozie among others.

With their training camp scheduled to take place in Spain, the Falcons are gearing up for a challenging tournament, where they will face formidable opponents world champions Spain, Brazil and Japan in Group C.

The team’s first match against Brazil is set for July 25 at the Stade Bordeaux.

Ebi, a veteran of numerous international tournaments, including six Women’s World Cups and the 2008 Olympic Games, remains a significant figure in Nigerian football.
