Ebonyi Announces Vacancy For 25 Permanent Secretaries

Ebonyi State Government has announced vacancy for 25 permanent secretaries to fill the existing administrative offices.

Governor Francis Nwifuru announced this on Friday. He said the process will be “monitored and done transparently”.

Civil servants that have reached grade level 16 and 17 have been advised to apply for the positions. The statement added that the state character of equity would be one of the criteria for employment.

The three senatorial zones – Ebonyi North, Ebonyi Central and Ebonyi South –  will be taken into consideration in accessing the applicants.

Also, the thirteen local governments – Abakaliki, Afikpo North, Afikpo South, Izzi, Ezza North, Ezza South, Ikwo, Ishielu, Ivo, Ohaukwu, Ohaozara and Onicha – will be represented in the appointment process.

The statement read in part: “Ebonyi State Executive Council approved the appointment of twenty-five permanent secretaries to fill existing vacancies, as required by the state Head of Service, Dr Rita-Mary Okoro. The council agreed and approved that only candidates on grade levels 16 and 17 can apply. The appointment will recognize the character system for equity.

“Therefore, the State Head of Service has been directed to commence the needed processes accordingly.”

Also, Governor Francis Nwifuru, announced that his administration would continue work on the state’s Trade Center.

Nwifuru said the state Commissioner of Lands, Chief Inyima Sunday, would commence work on reclaiming the center’s land and erecting a perimeter fence.

In a statement on Friday, Nwifuru said the Ebonyi Trade Center, a 10 storey building located at Presco Junction, Abakaliki, would house the state’s hotel and other recreation points.
