Anthony Joshua’s boxing promoter and Matchroom Boxing CEO, Eddie Hearn, has hinted that the professional boxing career of the former world champion may be approaching its final chapter.

In an interview with BoxNation, Eddie Hearn expressed uncertainty about Joshua’s longevity in the sport, stating, “I don’t think he has four or five more years in him, but who knows?”

Furthermore, Hearn suggested that Joshua, who will turn 35 in October, may have only a limited number of fights left before retiring, estimating that it could be “three, four, five, or six more” bouts.

Joshua is gearing up to face Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21 in a highly anticipated title fight. This comes after Joshua’s impressive knockout victory over Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

Eddie Hearn emphasized Joshua’s willingness to take on any formidable opponent, highlighting his readiness for a potential rematch with Ruiz. However, Hearn acknowledged that Joshua’s professional career has a finite timeline, adding, “He’s not going to be around forever.”

Despite the retirement speculations, Hearn also laid out ambitious plans for Joshua’s future, including a potential undisputed title shot against the winner of the Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk rematch scheduled for December 2 in Riyadh.

“Part of me would like to see AJ beat Dubois and then fight the winner, Usyk-Fury, twice. If you won those, imagine winning those and then calling it. That would be unbelievable,” Hearn said.

As Joshua braces himself for the upcoming bout, keen observers, including fans and pundits, eagerly anticipate witnessing how many more exciting fights the Nigerian-born British heavyweight boxer has in store for his fans.
