Edo 2024: Okpebholo Vows To Revive Juice Factory, Technical College

3 weeks ago 5

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo has promised to revive the Ehor Juice Factory established by  the Lucky Igbinedion administration.

The governorship candidate also promised to provide the necessary manpower and equipment needed to ensure that the Ehor Technical College is functional.

Okpebholo, who stated this at Ehor during the APC Ward to Ward campaign in Uhunmwode local government area, said the Ehor Juice Factory, when functional, will help to prevent the loss presently being experienced by the pineapple producers in Uhunmwode and other local government areas of the state.

“We are all aware that Uhunmwode local government area is one of the highest pineapple producing local governments in Edo State if not Nigeria.”

He queried, “Why can’t we then provide the factory that will buy and process the products  from the farmers,  instead of allowing them to riot away in the farm without buyers.”

About the Technical College, he promised to provide teachers and equip it to the standard required to make it one of the best schools you can think of in the country.

Also speaking, Charles Idahosa told the people that the only road tarred in Uhunmwode was tarred by the former governor, Adams Oshiomhole. He said “Obaseki has turned our Technical College into a garri factory.”

He pleaded with the Uhunmwode people to vote the APC come September 21 as Okpebholo has promised to better the life of Uhunmwode people.

On his part, the director general of APC Campaign, Matthew Urhoghide, appealed to the people to vote for APC election day.

Urhoghide said both Edo North and Central have all agreed with the Esan agenda, hence their choice of Senator Okpebholo as their party candidate.

He said he believes in Monday Okpebholo as a good candidate that will listen to the yearning of the people.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State, called on the people of Uhunmwode to vote for APC on September 21. He said he brought Monday Okpebholo to them so that they could hear from him what he intends to do for the people of Uhumwode.

He pleaded with them to vote APC on election day as Okpebholo had promised to give them a general hospital when he resumed office as governor of Edo State.

At Eguaeholor, where the candidate and the campaign team met with the party supporters from Isi North and South Wards, Okpebholo expressed shock that the main road leading to governor Godwin Obaseki’s ancestral home is not motorable as the campaign team has to pack most of their vehicles and trek the distance to access the campaign ground.

Okpebholo assured the people that the road would be tarred within 100 days of his administration in office.

“I will make sure I tread this road immediately when I resume office as the governor of Edo State. I am  highly disappointed that Obaseki’s administration neglected even his ancestral home,” he stated.

In Ugoneki, Egbede/ Ohuan ward , Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu told the people that Governor Obaseki claimed that he came from Uhumwode and for eight years he did nothing for the local government.

He urged them not to vote PDP on September 21, adding that the APC government will provide water, electricity, tarred roads and provide light for them when they come to power.
