Edo Guber: An Unintelligent Man Cannot Succeed Me – Obaseki Declares

2 weeks ago 28

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has declared that he cannot allow an individual lacking intelligence to succeed him.

Naija News reports that this statement was made during the campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, where Obaseki sought support for the party’s candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, in the upcoming election scheduled for September 21.

He asserted that the PDP has the most qualified candidate for the election, encouraging the electorate to prioritize integrity and capability in their voting decisions.

Obaseki highlighted that his administration has implemented reforms across various sectors, including education, agriculture, sports, technology, and healthcare, among others.

The Edo State Governor said: “These gains and successes would be derailed if left in the hands of an unintelligent, inexperienced or incompetent person whose only aim in power is to share the common patrimony of the people among the political class.

“We have reformed the education sector through the EdoBEST programme and ensured your daughter headed the State’s Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). We can’t hand over EdoBEST to unintelligent people.”

In his remark, Ighodalo charged the electoral umpire on free, fair, and credible polls in the State.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said he will support free, fair and credible elections as he is a democrat that believes in the credible process,” he said.
