….Ekhekhen, Igueben, Ugbegun, Ekpoma communities endorse guber bid

With less than two months to the governorship election in Edo State, the candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Patience Ndidi Key has taken her transformative plans to residents in Edo Central Senatorial District.
The campaign tour across Edo Central received strong community support with endorsements from residents and royal blessings from monarchs in the district.
Starting with her hometown, Ekekhen Community in Igueben Local Government Area, Key, accompanied by party chieftains and supporters, sought the community’s blessings as her campaign gained momentum.
Elders and residents of Ekekhen voiced their support, with a community leader Elder Palmer Igbinoba praising her vision and experience, saying, “Patience Ndidi Ofure Key has vision and experience which transcend the shores of Nigeria. We are satisfied with her and the vision she shared with us. We are supporting her to make sure our daughter becomes the governor of this state.”

Key stated that her involvement and service to Nigeria as the Chairman of Nigerians In Diaspora (NIDO) USA, opened her eyes further to the development gaps in the country and the failure of subsequent governments to meet the yearnings and the basic demands of the people.
She explained further ,”here in Edo, what I see is retrogression. I see the hunger in the land and the anger on the faces of the people. This is a failure of leadership and that is why I join politics. I am not a regular politician but I am committed to the service of humanity. This I have done repeatedly in my capacity as the chairman of NIDO and I can do more if elected governor of Edo State.”
The campaign team also visited the palace of the Onojie of Igueben, Ehizogie Eluojiorior, who welcomed Key and her team, pledging his support and lauding her courage and vision.
On his part,the Onojie of Igueben, Ehizogie Eluojiorior praised the courage of Key as the only female candidate in the race saying it will be a thing of joy should she emerge the Governor of Edo State.
“Your courage and vision are commendable,” he stated, underscoring the significance of her bid for the governorship.
In Ugbegun community, the Onogie, His Royal Highness Samuel Obade, called on Edo people to support meritorious leadership in the upcoming election.
He criticized the poor leadership selection process in the country which disqualifies well intentioned candidates and enthrones money bag politicians.
“The poor leadership selection process in our country has perpetuated money bag politicians with little understanding of governance,” he lamented, advocating for a shift towards leaders with clear vision and merit.
Key’s campaign also stopped in Ekpoma, where she secured further support and endorsements from residents of the area.
Throughout her tour, Key articulated her people-centered vision for Edo State, emphasizing her commitment to transformative leadership, noting that,”My aim is to serve the people of Edo State and bring about meaningful change”.
