Nigerian crossdress, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other security agencies in the country of violating human rights.
Naija News reports that Bobrisky, via his Instagram page, shared a legal suit praying to the court to restrain security agencies from violating his rights.
Bobrisky, through his lawyer, had filed a petition in the Federal High Court of Nigeria to restrain the EFCC and other security agencies from harassing, arresting, detaining, or declaring the crossdresser wanted.
According to Bobrisky, despite the court filing, the EFCC violently assaulted him and pulled him out of a plane that was about to take off, which is a violation of his fundamental human rights.
Bobrisky added that he wants the world to see the security agencies in Nigeria for what they are.
He wrote, “Notwithstanding the earlier filing of this fundamental rights matte,r the EFCC @officialefcc still violently assaulted and harassed me and pulled me out of a plane ✈️ set for takeoff 🛫. The EFCC and other security agencies in Nigeria 🇳🇬 are violators of human right,s and it is high time the world 🌎 and the international community gets to know about their trademark of violation of freedom and rights. Without any order of court the minister of interior ordered the Nigeria 🇳🇬 Immigration Service and the Nigeria 🇳🇬 Police to arrest and detain me which lead to my worsening illnesses, then again the EFCC arrested and took me from their Lagos office to Abuja notwithstanding the pendency of this suit. It is a shame that the EFCC does not respect the court neither does any security agencies they act above the law which they claim to protect and implement.”
