Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has called on residents to imbibe the virtues of patience, tolerance, and renewed commitment to the FCT’s development.

Wike, who made this call yesterday while felicitating with Muslims on Eid-el-Maulud, said the progress and prosperity of the FCT depend on their collective efforts. Together, they can build a society where everyone thrives in peace and security, just as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) envisioned a just and equitable society.

He said that Eid-el-Maulud served not only as a profound reminder of the virtues, values, and teachings of the Holy Prophet, who embodied compassion, humility, and justice, but it is also an opportunity for them to come together as residents of the FCT to reaffirm their commitment to the values of tolerance, love, and kindness that he so tirelessly preached.

“It is a time for us to remember the importance of empathy and the virtues of togetherness that should guide our interactions.  The Prophet’s life offers timeless lessons in pursuing peace, unity, and moral excellence.

“As we reflect on his example, let us embrace these principles in our daily interactions, fostering harmony and understanding among the diverse communities in the FCT.  Let us also take a moment to pray for our nation, Nigeria, and her leaders at all levels as we strive for stability, growth, and the well-being of all citizens.

“I also take this special occasion to reaffirm the FCT Administration’s unwavering commitment to meeting our obligations to you, the valued citizens of the FCT.  We will continue to work hard to provide essential infrastructure and services to enhance your quality of life,” he said.

Wike further assured residents that his administration is dedicated to improving the city’s infrastructure, social facilities, and human development.

“In the spirit of this special occasion, I also call upon each of you to meet your obligations to the government and society and continue to contribute your quota to the growth and progress of the FCT.

“I also express my gratitude to the law enforcement agencies and all essential service providers who continue to work tirelessly to keep the FCT safe and functioning,” he said.
