#EndBadGovernance: Dele Momodu Blasts FG’s ‘Show Of Force’ Amidst National Insecurity

Nigerian publisher and activist, Dele Momodu has criticized the government for deploying a significant number of security personnel to counter planned protests, while the country continues to struggle with widespread security issues.

In a statement made on Thursday via X, Momodu remarked, “So Nigerian government can mobilise this kind of force and military hardware, yet bandits and kidnappers are on rampage everywhere.”

His remarks come in response to the authorities’ deployment of substantial security personnel and resources ahead of the #EndBadGovernance protests, which began today.

Momodu’s comments accompanied a video showing a large number of police officers at an undisclosed location.

Continuing his critique, Momodu stated, “The good news is this government has already acknowledged and guaranteed the success of the protests inadvertently.”

Meanwhile, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have fired teargas on a group of protesters around the federal secretariat in Abuja — Nigeria’s capital city.

Naija News reports that Nigerians on Thursday commenced a nationwide protest against economic hardship and soaring inflation today.

The protests have been dubbed ’10 days of rage’ with the hashtag #EndBadGovernance.

There is heavy police presence across the nation as the protest picks up steam, with many roads deserted.
