EndBadGovernance protest: Osun police issues warning against unlawful gathering

Osun State Police Command has warned that it will not tolerate any attempt to jeopardise the peace and security of the state.

Issuing the warning through a statement by the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba through the Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola on Wednesday, the police also warned that it will not fold its arms and allow mischief makers to truncate the peaceful atmosphere of the state.

The warning according to the statement issued by Opalola is coming after revelations emerged that some individuals were attempting to disrupt the peace in the state.

The command revealed that the unnamed individuals were unhappy with the peaceful manners the EndBadGovernance nationwide protest was conducted and suspended in the state.

The statement reads, “The Osun State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that it is aware of the activities of some unscrupulous elements, who are attempting to disrupt the peace in the state.

“These individuals are unhappy with the peaceful protest (END BAD GOVERNANCE) carried out by the Coalition of Civil Organizations, Osun State Chapter, which was suspended on 6th August 2024, in honour of the Osun Osogbo Festival.

“The Command assures the public that it will not tolerate any attempt to jeopardize the peace and security of the state.

“The Command will not fold its arms to allow mischief makers to truncate the peaceful atmosphere of the State.

“The public is hereby advised to remain calm and go about their lawful activities, and report any unlawful gathering in any part of the state.”
