The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has urged protesters against the President Bola Tinubu administration to come for dialogue.

The minister stated that the government is ready to listen and walk them through some governance issues that they may not have been privy to.

Wike stated this on Thursday while presenting the staff of office to four newly appointed chiefs in the territory.

He praised protesters in the FCT for been non-violent, urging them to continue to resist those who will want to destroy the nation.

He said Abuja as the nation’s capital remained a precious asset to the country, noting that if the FCT is destroyed, it will have negative consequences on the entire country.

Security Operatives Battle Protesters In Abuja

Meanwhile, security agencies are currently experiencing difficulty in controlling the activities of protesters in the Gwagwalada area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Naija News reports that the protesters barricaded the main Lokoja-Abuja Expressway, preventing vehicular movement in the area and smashing the cars plying the route.

Also, the main road around Dagiri, Wazobia Park, and SDP Junction were all blocked.

However, a combined force of security operatives, which includes the police, army, civil defense and Local vigilantes, were deployed to the area to chase the protesters away.
