A former member of the National Assembly, Wumi Ogunlola, has praised Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for instilling pride in the people through exemplary governance and a commendable record of achievements over the past two years.

Ogunlola, who represented Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives, stated that the governor’s accomplishments in office during this period justified the people’s vote for him in 2022, saying,
“The Ekiti electorate made the right decision in voting for Oyebanji.”

The former lawmaker and newly appointed federal commissioner for the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission spoke in a chat with journalists in Ado Ekiti on Friday while appraising the governor’s mid-term record.

She said, “The governor has exceedingly done well for the people of Ekiti. He’s involved in every aspect; this is a governor who visits the people. He is unprecedented. Even former Governor Fayose, who is street-wise, did not take it to that extent. As Fayose said, Oyebanji has come, he has seen the mistakes that all of them made, and he is correcting them.”

Recall that during his second anniversary, which culminated last week, Oyebanji invited former Ekiti State governors Niyi Adebayo, Ayodele Fayose, Segun Oni, and Kayode Fayemi to inaugurate different projects linked with each predecessor.

Ogunlola said, “Oyebanji has a six-point strategic agenda, and you can see that this man has touched every aspect. Give him credit in the areas of governance. This man has made the people proud.

“Governor Oyebanji has lived up to the people’s expectations with his giant strides across all sectors. These have brought a new lease of life to the state,” she said.

The former lawmaker assured Nigerians of President Bola Tinubu’s capacity to solve the myriad of problems confronting the country, saying that the challenges that have persisted over time could not be rectified overnight.

She stated that the country was in an intensive care unit, gasping for survival before the president took office, adding, “The Tinubu administration is rectifying the missteps of the past through the implementation of reforms and strategic innovations.

“Things will soon change for the better. All these issues we are experiencing started from somewhere. It is because some people made mistakes in the past.

“I have heard the President say that by the time he finishes his four years, if he has not performed well, he should be voted against. It is because he is so sure of what he is doing and the expected results,” Ogunlola said.
