Uchechi Uchenna, who was crowned Miss Culture Village, Arts and Film Festival, VILLAFFEST, in 2022, has recorded another milestone as she has been selected as part of the contestants for the 2024 edition of the Miss Universe Nigeria pageantry.
The beauty queen will be representing Enugu State as contestant 12 during the competition. Through the platform of Villaffest and under the mentorship of the founder and youth empowerment advocate, Ichie Kelechi Eke; Uchechi launched an advocacy project called ‘Embrace Your Roots.’
The organisation further gave her the platform to lead, learn and strengthen her advocacy for culture. The fast rising model is also a poet and storyteller who is passionate about impacting the community, which was why she founded the ‘Embracing Humanity Initiative’ to advocate for causes such as Education for Underprivileged children, Mental Health and other healthcare.
Expressing her excitement in an Instagram post, the elegant and beautiful Uchechi wrote, “do whatever you can with all you have!!! I’m so grateful and excited to announce that I passed the audition for Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, and I’ll be on your screens as Miss Enugu, contestant 12.”
In his reaction, the founder of Villaffest, Ichie Eke said, “we are proud of Uchechi, and we urge everyone to support this promising young woman in her journey to greatness.”

There’s certainly a rarity in the poetry that turns the ordinary, mundane into something exotic and priceless, poetry you’d want to read and reread for its sheer, infinite pleasure. I am writing this on Thursday morning to meet production deadline. Truth be told, as we approach the finish line of Paris 2024, Nigeria’s name is nowhere near the top of the final medals table.
