Falconets Coach Unveils Squad For 2024 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced the Falconets squad for the 2024 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup, set to take place in Colombia from August 31 to September 22.

Chris Danjuma, the head coach of the Falconets, has selected a group of players representing various clubs in Nigeria and abroad.

The goalkeeping department comprises Anderline Mgbechi of Delta Queens, Faith Omilana of Naija Ratels, and Shukura Bakare of Nasarawa Amazons.

The defensive lineup includes Oluchi Ohaegbulem, Shukurat Oladipo, Jumoke Alani, Comfort Folorunsho, Rofiat Imuran, and Oluwabunmi Oladeji.

In midfield, Coach Danjuma has selected Adoo Yina, Chioma Olise, Olushola Shobowale, Joy Igbokwe, and Shakirat Oyinlola.

The attacking lineup features Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, Mary Nkpa, Chiamaka Osigwe, Janet Akekoromowei, Flourish Sabastine, Aminat Bello, and Opeyemi Ajakaye.

The Falconets will engage in two friendly matches against Australia and Mexico in Bogota to fine-tune their preparations for the World Cup. These matches will not only help the team prepare but also provide them with an opportunity to test their skills against strong opponents.

Note that the Falconets, who are in Group D featuring Germany, Venezuela and South Korea, will commence the World Cup campaign against South Korea at the Estadio El Techo in Bogotá in September.
