Singer Simisola Kosoko, Simi has reacted angrily at the backlash following her comments that she only listens to her husband, Adekunle Gold’s music.

Simi said during an interview on Zero Condition podcast that she does not listen to people’s music, she only binges people’s music when she finds a voice she likes.

The mother of one took to the social media, her X handle to voice out her frustration as she pointed out that she was misinterpreted. She however cleared the air on this, as she also accused some news portals of twisting her words.

“I’m deading that sh….t immediately. I said I don’t listen to music. I don’t know songs. If I wasn’t me, I wouldn’t know my songs, and if I wasn’t with my man, I probably wouldn’t know his either, because I don’t listen to anything.”

“I hate doing these stupid interviews sometimes because they don’t care about supporting you. They will either lie or post things out of context so people can pile on you. I hate wicked people. And I said this in response to a question in an interview.

“I don’t listen to anything. I find a voice I like, I binge their project for a month and move on. I don’t listen to songs or know any artistes that are not in my face. It’s not a flex. It’s just my truth. I try and I’m terrible at it,” she responded.

The backlash is the fall out of her recent interview on the Zero Conditions Podcast, where revealed that she hardly listens to other songs except that of her husband because they are married.

In her words, “I don’t know anybody. The reason I know my husband’s songs is because I am married to him; the reason I am listening to my album now is because it just came out. In another few weeks, I won’t listen as much.”

On how she has been able to overcome stage fright, the ‘Joromi’ crooner said performing her new song on stage is like trying a new pair of shoes that need adjustments.

The singer who have had a history of stage fright said she is sometimes amazed at what causes her stage fright.

“I don’t know why that is. Lol. Maybe it’s because I have a history with pretty bad stage fright. Now I have to give my brain time to bond with the song, so it can learn to disregard me and my nerves”.

“Anyway this night, I kept rehearsing this song (maybe overly so), because it was my first time performing it on stage and of course the nerves came. But I have one or two more to go until I get out of the way and my brain takes over lol,” Simi said.
