Football fans have urged free agent Sergio Ramos to reunite with former club teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel.

On Tuesday, Ramos officially bid farewell to his childhood club Sevilla, where he spent one season (2023/24) after leaving PSG.

Ramos left Sevilla for LaLiga giants Real Madrid in 2005 before returning to the club in 2023 and is likely to decide on his immediate future soon.

Following his departure from Sevilla for the second time, fans have took to social media to urge the 2010 FIFA World Cup winner to reunite with either Ronaldo or Messi.

While Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi Arabia top side Al Nassr, his rival Messi features for Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami.

One fan shared his opinion on X: “Finally going to join Ronaldo at [Al-Nassr].”

Another fan suggested that Ramos should move to the United States.

“Time for Inter Miami with Messi.”

One wrote on his X handle:”It’s time to learn Arabic.”

Also one X user wrote: “Time for him to join his GOAT lionel messi at inter miami.

“They should get it done asap.”

If Ramos eventually join Al Nassr, he will be reuniting with Ronaldo with whom he won the Spanish LaLiga title, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup, four UEFA Champions League titles and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Aside being teammates at Madrid, Ramos and Ronaldo have come up against each other at international level. Ramos was a member of the Spanish side that eliminated a Ronaldo-led Portuguese side in round 16 of the 2010 World Cup and the semi-finals of the Euro 2012.

A move to Inter Miami will see a second reunion between Ramos and with Messi after both stars joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 and left together in 2023.

At PSG, Ramos and Messi lifted the French Ligue 1 title twice and the French Super Cup.

Before becoming teammates at the French giants, Messi and Ramos had been involved in memorable El Clasico battles. Notable among their previous clashes was in the 2010/11 season where Barcelona hammered Madrid 5-0 at the Nou Camp With Ramos getting sent off for a tackle on Messi.

In the same season, Ramos and Madrid beat Barcelona 1-0 in the Copa del Rey final with Ronaldo netting the goal. Messi helped Barcelona avenge the Cup final loss, by bagging the two goals in a 2-0 first leg win at the Bernabeu in the Champions League. Barcelona went on to become European champions.

Also, a move to Inter Miami will not only see a second reunion between Ramos and Messi, the Spaniard will become teammate with former Barcelona stars Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez.

Weighing in the GOAT debate Ramos, in an interview in February 2023 on PSG TV, rated Messi ahead of Ronaldo.

“There was suffering for several years playing against Messi. I am now enjoying him.

“He is the best player football has ever produced.”

Meanwhile Ramos, in a media briefing expressed his gratitude to everyone at Sevilla for their support.

“It has been an accumulation of feelings, I am very grateful to everyone. Thanks also to my family for always being my rock. To the fans, too, for making me feel at home and for their support every time I’ve played at the Sánchez-Pizjuán.

“I arrived with two very clear objectives: to pay homage to [Antonio] Puerta, to [José Antonio] Reyes, to my grandparents and to my father; secondly, to demonstrate my loyalty to this team on the pitch with commitment and professionalism.

“I think that I have fulfilled them both; you can always give more, but I leave with my head held high and my conscience clear. It’s a stage that is coming to an end in a wonderful way and I’m grateful to everyone for being part of it. This club has run through my veins from birth. You can count on me for whatever you need.”
