First City Monument Bank has clinched dual honours at the Development Bank of Nigeria 2024 Annual Lecture Series and Awards.
It was named the “Best Bank with the Highest Impact on MSMEs Accessing Credit for the First Time in Nigeria” and “Highest Disbursement to Sustainability Projects”.
A statement made available to our correspondent on Thursday showed that between January and June 2, FCMB disbursed an impressive N180bn to over 800,000 micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises across various sectors.
The Managing Director of FCMB, Yemisi Edun, stated, “We are honoured to receive these prestigious awards, which reflect our unwavering commitment to supporting MSMEs. These businesses are vital to Nigeria’s economic development, and we are dedicated to providing them with both financial and non-financial support to help them thrive.”
In 2023, FCMB secured over $280m from Development Financial Institutions to support MSMEs, including those led by women and operating in crucial economic sectors.
