Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged Arsenal to sign Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen when the transfer window opens in January.
Ferdinand pointed out that the Gunners have struggled to find the back of the net this season, failing to score from open play in their last four matches.
Currently sitting third in the Premier League, behind Liverpool and Chelsea, Ferdinand believes that adding Victor Osimhen could boost Arsenal’s title aspirations.
“You need a number nine who can come in and make an impact on games,” Ferdinand stated in an interview with Football Transfers.
“While I would advocate for signing Osimhen, it’s essential to find someone who can contribute significantly in crucial moments.”
Meanwhile, Watford legend Troy Deeney said Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is one of the players who hasn’t met expectations this year.
He also mentioned Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus, critiquing his performances as below par.
“It’s tough to label someone a flop, but I would say Marcus has been a bit of a disappointment considering the high expectations we have for him,” Deeney commented on talkSPORT.
Regarding Gabriel Jesus, Deeney said, “He’s a talented player, but he seems to be having difficulty finding the net lately. When a player openly acknowledges that scoring isn’t his strong point, it might be time to reassess their approach.”
