The Federal Government on Tuesday said it is banning single-use plastics across all its Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The Minister of State for Environment, Iziaq Salako, disclosed this to journalists after the Federal Executive Council meeting which was presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
Salako said the ban aligns with the government’s broader plastic waste management strategy.
“This initiative demonstrates our commitment to addressing the triple threat of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution,” he explained, describing plastic pollution as “a major issue in our country”.
