The Minister of Communication, Innovation & Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, has called on tech experts to leverage Artificial Intelligence to grow the agricultural sector.
While speaking at the Ogun tech community, the Minister urged stakeholders to leverage Artificial Intelligence to revive the agricultural practices in Nigeria.
He also charged Nigerian students to prioritise their education and contribute their quota towards nation-building.
The Minister stated this during a courtesy visit yesterday to the Anglican High School Quarry, Abeokuta, for the positive encouragement
While addressing the students, Tijani declared that the training and discipline imbibed in him during secondary school shaped him to become the person he is today.
He warned the students not to allow their environment dictate their future, as well as humble beginnings, to limit them from where they are heading.
According to him, “My message is that where we come from is both important and cannot limit where we are heading. I was a student in this school, and the lessons learnt in this school shaped who I am today. ”
“Coming back to the school is also a way of encouraging the students here to believe that they are beginning today and they can also become a Minister in the future, they can become an Ambassador, they can become a Governor. They can shake the world, they can become President, our kids should key in on that, because it is the most important.”
Tijani disclosed a plan to start enrollment of the top three students across all levels of the school in a fellowship, support funds of one hundred thousand naira every session, while also giving them a laptop and a new school uniform.
He promised to fund the building of a story building in the school and furnish the classroom with smart boards.
Tijani commended the Commissioner for Education in the state for integrating technology in the education sector.
