The Federal Ministry of Finance has disclosed the inauguration of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, as a step towards promoting transparency and accountability in the public service.
This is contained in a press release issued to journalists on Monday by the ministry’s Director, Information and Public Relations, Mohammed Manga.
The statement revealed that the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Lydia Jafiya, explained that “The inauguration of the Anti-Corruption Committee marks a decisive step in our collective commitment to foster integrity, accountability, and transparency within the public service and a further reflection of our unwavering dedication to ensuring that the Ministry stands as a beacon of ethical conduct and good governance.
“Combating corruption is not the responsibility of the unit alone but requires the collective effort of all staff in the ministry.”
Jafiya urged everyone to embrace the initiative, support the committee’s work, and demonstrate the ministry’s commitment to ethical behaviour in all its dealings.
The Permanent Secretary assured all pf her unwavering support and collaboration to the committee to achieve its objectives.
She informed them that the ACTU Committee is tasked with promoting and entrenching a culture of transparency, upholding the highest standards of accountability, and ensuring that the principles of the rule of law guide all actions within the Ministry.
