A fire broke out in the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) section of the $20bn Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals this afternoon in Lagos.
The Guardian gathered that emergency services responded promptly to contain the blaze as no casualties were reported.
A video clip shared on X (formerly Twitter) shows a section of the refinery under fire.
Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, Anthony Chiejina confirmed to The Guardian that it was a minor incident that was contained at the time of filing this report.
” There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty,” he said.
