Antaser Nigeria Limited has denied allegations of irregularities in the awarding of the International Cargo Tracking Note (ICTN) project.

General manager, Antaser Nigeria, Emmanuel Aiyegbeni, in a statement, denied media reports and refuted the claims attributed to renowned lawyer Femi Falana SAN.

Aiyegbeni said the allegations attributed to Falana suggested a lack of due process and possible hijacking of the contract by the company.

The manager emphasized the legitimate award of the ICTN contract by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Shippers Council, “highlighting its unparalleled global expertise and track record in implementing the scheme.”

Aiyegbeni stated that the statements made by Falana were likely based on misinformation and urged both Falana and media platforms to utilize the Freedom of Information Act to verify the facts with relevant government agencies.

He pledged full commitment to delivering the service in line with international best practices.

The company boss reaffirmed its dedication to supporting Nigeria’s economic and security goals through the ICTN scheme and stated that it is ready to begin operations within 24 hours of receiving the necessary enforcement order.

He added, “Clarification of TPMS Engagement and Termination: The Transport and Port Management System (TPMS) was engaged by the Nigerian Ports Authority in 2010 for the operation of ICTN.

“This engagement was initially suspended due to the ongoing port reform chaired by the then Minister of Finance/Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. But shortly after, the government and all the stakeholders saw the immense benefits of ICTN and demanded it’s immediate reinstatement. Shortly after reinstatement, the contract was terminated due to TPMS’s non-remittance of the actual accrued revenue to the Federal Government.

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) confirmed that Antaser Afrique Bvba, as a technical partner to TPMS, promptly remitted all monies due to the government, leading to Antaser Afrique’s complete exoneration, while TPMS was indicted, prosecuted, and eventually convicted.”
