A Florida man has been arrested for making threats against President Joe Biden, just days after a failed assassination attempt on former President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.

Jason Patrick Alday, 39, was taken into custody on Monday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida announced.

Alday, a resident of Quincy, Florida, allegedly sent multiple threatening communications targeting President Biden and other federal officials.

According to a criminal complaint, Alday made threatening statements about President Biden while being checked into a mental health facility in Tallahassee, Florida, last month. Additionally, he allegedly posted further threats on the social media platform X.

Alday has been detained pending trial, as federal authorities continue to investigate the nature and extent of his threats.

This arrest comes on the heels of a violent incident involving former President Trump.

On Saturday, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump was wounded in the ear when a gunman opened fire.

The assailant, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, killed one rally attendee before being shot dead by Secret Service snipers.

Meanwhile, President Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, a development which the White House has confirmed.

Naija News reports that Biden has decided to isolate himself at his house till further notice.
