Former Kaduna Chief Judge, Justice Tanimu Zailani Is Dead

A former Chief Judge of Kaduna State, Justice Tanimu Zailani, has passed away.

He died in the early hours of Sunday in Kaduna after a brief illness, according to family sources.

Justice Zailani served as the head of the Kaduna State Judiciary from 2013 until his retirement in 2018.

During his tenure, he played a significant role in overseeing the judicial branch of the Kaduna State Government.

A family source who spoke with Daily Trust revealed that the late jurist will be laid to rest following a funeral prayer in his hometown, Rigachikun, located in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In other news, the Commissioner of Police in Awka Ibom, Waheed Ayilara is dead.

Naija News learnt that Ayilara died in the early of Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.

Late last year, Ayilara had a stint as acting Commissioner of Police in Lagos.

He underwent a prostate cancer surgery on Wednesday before he died hours later.

The former Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, took over from AIG Idowu Owohunwa.

It was after acting as head of Lagos Police Command that he was deployed to Akwa Ibom.
