FRSC calls on stakeholders to support road accident reduction initiatives

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr Shehu Mohammed has called on stakeholders to support efforts towards reducing road accidents in the country.

The Corps Marshal made the call while decorating the five newly appointed Deputy Corps Marshals in Abuja.

He said the Corps is coming up with new initiatives to reduce the carnage and its attendant fatalities.

According to Shehu Mohammed, road safety is a shared responsibility hence all hands must be on deck to check the menace.

He charged the newly appointed officers to redouble efforts as the public was expecting much from them.

The FRSC Corps Marshal urged them to provide purposeful leadership that would bring about effective traffic management in the country.

He promised to work with international bodies to reduce road accidents as the United Nations attributes it to the 8th cause of death globally.

Former Corps Marshal, Mr Ostia Chidoka urged the new management of FRSC to invest in manpower development and reward hardworking officers for increased productivity.

Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated Officers, Deputy Corps Marshal, Kingsley Agomoh promised to discharge their duties professionally.

DCM Agomoh said this appointment would bring out the best in road management across the country.
