The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is set to launch a new mobile app in September 2024, designed to facilitate the verification of driving licences and plate numbers.

This was revealed by FRSC spokesperson Elizabeth Jayeola during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday.

Jayeola, who serves as the Sector Public Education Officer for the FRSC Lagos State Command, highlighted that the mobile app will serve both citizens and road safety officials.

She explained, “There is the mobile app that is going to be launched in September 2024. It has functions for the citizens and for the FRSC.

“We are going to bring this to the mobile app; you can now check for licences, number plates, and all that.”

In addition to the app, Jayeola mentioned the deployment of radar gun technology on the Third Mainland Bridge, aimed at catching vehicles exceeding speed limits.

She identified speeding, distracted driving, and aggressive driving as the primary causes of road accidents in Lagos.

Jayeola also urged citizens to collaborate with road safety officials to enhance the safety of Nigerian roads.
