Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Thursday, donated food items to corps members deployed to the state for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ stream I orientation course at Amada temporary orientation camp, the Akko Local Government Area of the state.
The items donated include three bulls, 30 bags of rice, 10 jerricans of palm oil, 10 jerricans of vegetable oil, 10 bags of sugar, eight bags of beans and five cartons of maggi cubes.
Disclosing this to our correspondent, the Information Officer, Office of the Secretary to the State Government Joshua Danmalam, said the gesture was a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to supporting the development and well-being of young Nigerians in the state.
He said, “The donation will no doubt have a positive impact on the lives of corps members, enabling them to focus on their national service.
“The governor’s support for the NYSC programme is a demonstration of his administration’s priorities, which include youth development and empowerment.
“By providing these essential resources, the governor has succeeded in creating a conducive environment for corps members to thrive and make a meaningful contribution to the state.
“While receiving the items, the State Coordinator, Chinwe Nwachuku, who was visibly excited, expressed her deepest gratitude to the governor for his benevolence.”
