Taraba State governor, Agbu Kefas, has approved the recertification of all Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-Os) in the state.

The directive was contained in a statement on Sunday by the Director General of Taraba Geographic Information Service (TAGIS), Joshua Maaku.

Maaku said the exercise was aimed at ensuring that all landed property documents were up to date and in compliance with the state’s current regulations.

The DG urged all owners of landed property in the state to avail themselves of the opportunity by visiting the headquarters of TAGIS, formerly Bureau for Land and Survey, located in Jalingo, the state capital.

Maalu stressed that the recertification exercise will last for six months after which charges will apply late recertification after the window period.

The DG further called on land owners to take the statement seriously by ensuring that their certificates of occupancy were recertified within the stipulated time frame to avoid penalties.
