Kaduna State governor Uba Sani has pledged urgent action towards rebuilding the Saminaka-Marjire road, which was cut off by flood.

The recent flood disaster had cut off the road by a bridge on the outskirts of Saminaka town, cutting off Marjire and four other rural communities from Saminaka, the Lere local government headquarters.

Governor Sani however gave the assurance that his government will take urgent actions to address the plights of the people of the communities and the entire Lere local government area, as the road collapse has affected their communities in no small measure.

The governor who spoke through his chief of staff, Malam Liman Sani Kila who led the Flood Impact Assessment Committee to Lere LGA said, his administration is committed to the development of the rural economy.

Malam Sani Kila also promised that aside the reconstruction of the portion of the road and the collapsed bridge, people of the affected communities would be given relief materials.

Chairman of Lere local government, Hon. Mathew Bulus Gambo, expressed appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for setting up a high-powered committee chaired by his Chief of Staff, saying that such a move is a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to addressing the people’s plights.

The committee also visited other locations affected by flood within the local government, including Wawan Rafi Village, where a bridge also collapsed, Nasarawa and Ungwan Shuru areas of Saminaka township.
