Gov Yusuf Reopens Driving Institute, Admits 250 Candidates

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State yesterday reopened the Kano Driving Institute shut down by the previous administration.

The  institute, established by former Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso, has also  admitted 250 candidates for a start.

Yusuf said there was a need to revive institutions like the driving school to provide skills training and job opportunities for youths.

He stated that the closure of the 26 institutes established by Kwankwaso’s administration, including the driving school, had far-reaching consequences.

Yusuf said that the consequences was  not only on  the structures but also the 505,280 youths who could have benefited  over the past eight years.

The governor said  that the reopened  institute aims to equip youths with safe and well-equipped driving knowledge, improving road safety in Kano and beyond.

He pledged to upgrade the facilities and provide high-quality driving education.
