State governors, ministers, and other notable politicians gathered at the Area One Mosque in Abuja over the weekend to honour the memory of Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, the late mother of President Bola Tinubu.
The special anniversary prayer session included the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and special prayers led by selected Islamic clerics.
The event also marked the inauguration of a nationwide project to construct 330 boreholes in her honour, reflecting her enduring legacy and the deep respect held for her contributions.
The executive secretary of the Commission for Almajiri, Dr Muhammad Sani Idris, who coordinated the session, paid glowing tributes to the life and achievements of late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji.
Governor of Katsina State, Dr Dikko Radda, also shed more light on the 330 boreholes project constructed nationwide.
In his sermon before the two raka’ats Juma’at prayer, the Chief Imam of the mosque Sheikh Sani Abubakar, urged leaders at all levels to discharge their responsibilities with the fear of God.
He also urged civil servants in the country to uphold the rules of the service, because everybody would account for his deeds on the day of judgement.
