Gridlock As Tanker Falls On Lagos Road [VIDEOS]

A heavily loaded gas tanker overturned in the vicinity of Anthony Oke, Lagos State, on Wednesday, subsequently obstructing the primary road and leading to considerable traffic congestion.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed this in a publication on its official X handle, sharing videos and photos from the incident.

In response, personnel from the Lagos State Fire Service have been dispatched to the location, and evacuation measures have commenced.

Naija News reports that LASTMA officers are currently working to extricate the tanker from the scene.

“A loaded gas tanker has overturned at Anthony Oke, near Trem, inward. Necessary action has been taken, and our officers are firmly positioned to divert traffic to alternative routes.

“Members of the Lagos State Fire Service are also on the ground, and the evacuation process is expected to be carried out swiftly.

“Evacuation has commenced immediately by LASTMA personnel,” LASTMA announced.

LASTMA has recommended that motorists utilize the service lane following the incident involving Anthony Oke either to proceed with their journey or to explore alternative routes.

Furthermore, LASTMA has called upon all road users to demonstrate patience as emergency services are engaged in recovery.
