Hardship Is So Much, Fix Nigeria, Don’t Attack Davido – Ruggedman To Govt

Nigerian legendary rapper, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, better known by his stage name, Ruggedman, has called on the government to address hardship affecting Nigerians.

Ruggedman said the attack by government personnel and supporters on Nigeria musician, David Adeleke, aka Davido, for criticizing the shambled state of the nation’s economy was unnecessary.

Naija News reported that Davido, at the Bid Homies House podcast, in the United States, condemned the way the federal government of President Bola Tinubu has been handling the country’s economy.

It is not cool back home. The economy is in shambles. I do my part, I am an ambassador. When I go home and I am filming, I am not going to show the bad parts,” Davido said.

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and a former Senior Special Assistant on Digital Communication to former President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, described Davido’s statement as unpatriotic.

“Selling out your country from foreign soil is so disappointing and unpatriotic. Public figures like Davido should know that. They should act and be seen as good ambassadors for Nigeria wherever they find themselves,” Bashir wrote on his X handle.

In Davido‘s defense on his X handle, on Monday, Ruggedman wrote, “Ok Davido has said what he said, moving forward the government should fix Nigeria so nobody will say such again. All this barking all over the place is not fixing the nation. The hardship is too much.”
