A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu failed to mention his plan to end importation of refined products in his national broadcast to Nigerians.

In a reaction to the President’s broadcast, Onuesoke said the speech was a complete waste of time and an embarrassment to Nigerians.

He said the President also failed to mention his plan to urgently address the rising inflation on foods, fuel and commodities that had subjected Nigerians to excruciating hunger and poverty.

“President Tinubu has shown that he lacks the capacity and political will to stop importation of fuel and refined products to the benefit of a few cabals holding the country to ransom.

“President Tinubu has also proven to Nigerians that he is not interested in getting our refineries to work.

“The Federal Government led by President Tinubu appears overwhelmed and does not have solutions to the lingering banditry, kidnapping, farmers and herdsmen crisis leading to shortage of farm produce,” he claimed.

He advised him (Tinubu) to give full support to Dangote Refinery and other functioning private refineries to produce sufficient refined products.

“The President, being the Minister of Petroleum must get the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries to start work as soon as possible to bring the prices of fuel down, as that is the only way to drop the inflation,” he stated.
