Three bandits were reportedly gunned down during a gun battle between them and soldiers at Mai-Iddo village last Saturday, following a raid on the bandits’ hideout in which four abducted farmers, including a female, were rescued.
A source from the area confirmed to DAILY POST the discovery of the corpses by hunters.
According to him, “two hunters from neigbouring Kurmin-Kare village found the two corpses on a rocky hill in the area on Monday.”
The source explained that it was the village chief from the area who confirmed to him that two corpses suspected to be among the fleeing bandits from Mai-Iddo village were found in the forest by hunters.
He further explained that the two corpses were riddled with bullets.
ASP Hassan Mansur, the spokesman of the state police command, is yet to confirm the report.
