‘I Can’t Carry My Own Children’ – Selena Gomez Opens Up About Health Struggles

American singer and actress, Selena Gomez has opened up about her personal health challenges, revealing that she is unable to carry her own child due to medical concerns.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the “Who Says” star shared that her health condition makes it unsafe for her to go through pregnancy.

I have never spoken this before, but I am unable to bear my own children. I have a number of medical concerns that might jeopardize both mine and the baby’s lives. That was something I had to mourn for a while,” she revealed.

Selena also expressed that the news was difficult to process, as it wasn’t how she had imagined her journey to motherhood.

It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. But I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me,” said the singer.

Despite the challenges, Selena remains hopeful and excited about her future as a mother. She shared that while her path to having children may differ from what she once envisioned, she is eager for the experience.

I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby,” she explained.

Reflecting on her personal life, Selena added, “Before I met my boyfriend, I was single for five years, with the exception of going on a few dates. And I was like, ‘Okay, if this is the vibe, then what is the most important thing to me? Family.’”
