The president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez believes that the club’s new signing, Kylian Mbappe will never forget 2012, a year he had the opportunity to tour the club’s training facility in Valdebebas.

It has been the childhood dream of Kylian Mbappe to play for Real Madrid and he has consistently said so whenever he has the opportunity.

While he dreamt of playing for Real Madrid, the Franch forward had to develop his craft at Monaco before he made a life changing move to Paris Saint Germain in 2017.

At PSG, Mbappe was treated as a demigod, made the club’s highest paid player in history, and given the club’s captaincy but all that didn’t make him forgo his dream of playing for Real Madrid.

The Frenchman finally achieved the dream in June 2024 after he joined the Spanish giants on a free transfer thanks to his expired contract with PSG.

During his unveiling earlier today, Real Madrid president, Perez reminded him of his visit to the club in 2012. In the said year, the then coach of the club, Zinedine Zidane invited Mbappe to the club’s training facility.

“I know you will never forget that day in 2012 when Zidane invited you to Valdebebas,” Perez said.

“I want you to know that this love you have for Real Madrid gave you the strength to overcome all the obstacles.

“You will now wear the white shirt, the shirt of the 15 Champions League.

“You won a World Cup at 18!

“Last season was your best season in terms of goals!

“Thank you, Kylian for being here.”
