I Remain Edo Authentic Deputy Governor — Omobayo

Engr. Marvellous Godwins Omobayo has asserted that he remains the legitimate Deputy Governor of Edo State, despite the ongoing legal challenges surrounding the office.

Omobayo made this declaration during a solidarity visit from the leadership and members of three recognized transport unions in Edo State.

The unions—National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), and Edo State Drivers Welfare Scheme—visited Omobayo to express their support amid the political uncertainty.

Omobayo emphasized that the ongoing litigations have not distracted him from carrying out his constitutional duties.

He reiterated his commitment to supporting Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration in driving economic prosperity and transformation in Edo State.

The Deputy Governor expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming support he has received from the unions since assuming office and commended their loyalty to Governor Obaseki.

Speaking on behalf of the unions, Comrade Monday Orhue, Chairman of RTEAN, and Chief Odion Olaye, Chairman of NURTW, reaffirmed their total support for Omobayo.

They passed a vote of confidence on him as the authentic and recognized Deputy Governor of Edo State.

Olaye expressed optimism that the Obaseki-led administration would conclude its tenure on a strong and positive note, despite the current legal disputes.
