I Won’t Wait For You To Fail Before Calling You Out – SDP’s Adebayo To Tinubu

Former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has said he would not wait for President Bola Tinubu to fail before calling his attention to bad economic policies of his administration.

Adewole Adebayo said this on Monday while commenting on two headlines on Adams Oshiomhole’s statements on ex-president, Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Tinubu.

In the two headlines on Daily Post and Punch, dated 22 August 2017 and 15 August 2023 respectively, the former governor of Edo State, Oshiomhole said, “Buhari is doing well, APC never promised Nigerians miracles“.

Then he accused Buhari of leaving terrible economy for Tinubu, stating, “Tinubu inherited terrible economy from Buhari”.

Adebayo said policies of President Tinubu are not addressing poverty. He also said the President refused to follow Chapter 2 of Nigeria’s constitution.

The SDP former presidential candidate wrote on his X handle “Whatever President Bola Tinubu is not doing well such as abject failure and wilful refusal to follow Chapter 2 of the Constitution, Fundamental Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy, we speak now or forever hold our peace.”

Referring to the two headline statements of Oshiomhole on Buhari, he added, “We can’t wait for him to fail and go before we talk.”

Adebayo said he has always offered alternative policies President Tinubu could adopt to meet the goals contained in the constitution.

“We do not only criticize. We offer alternative policies to meet the goals contained in the Nigerian Constitution for a people-centric governance devoted to the public welfare, justice and abolition of poverty and amelioration of insecurity. Politics is not for amusement or enmity,” he said.
